Position: Substitute Secretary for Teaching and Learning
Reports to: Director of Teaching and Learning
Duration: 6/11/2018 through 9/17/2018
Provide clerical support to the Director of Teaching and Learning as well as the Department. Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
General Responsibilities:
Provide clerical assistance with the ongoing management of district grants, including ordering and receiving materials, and general office duties.
Places and receives telephone calls
Develop reports using spreadsheets and other tools as needed.
Assist with developing and maintaining assessment data and other special projects as needed.
Maintain a regular filing system and processes incoming correspondence as instructed.
Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed, and puts it into usable form.
Maintains a schedule of appointments and makes arrangements for conferences and interviews.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Associates Degree or equivalent in years of work experience.
Professional communication skills with ability to express ideas and concepts clearly.
Ability to collaborate with staff on various projects.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
At least intermediate word processing software knowledge (MS Word)
At least intermediate spreadsheet software knowledge (MS Excel)
Email, contact management and scheduling software knowledge
Environment: School office environment; constant interruptions
Physical Abilities: Sitting for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard; reaching overhead, above shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist and kneeling or crouching to retrieve files from cabinets and shelves; hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or by telephone; seeing to read various documents related to assigned activities; lifting light objects.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
