Responsibilities:

Great Lakes Credit Union is hiring a Teller!

We are looking for the best and brightest to join our team!

Department Days/Hours: Monday through Thursday 7:45am to 5:15pm,Friday 7:45amto 6:15pm, and Saturday 7:45amto 1:15pm.

This position performs teller transactions, make referrals, and provide service to members. Meets and exceeds members' expectations by providing excellent service. Acts as the members' most valued financial partner, taking every opportunity to understand and assess their financial needs and goals. Performs all duties with accuracy and in compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and complies with GLCU's policies and procedures.

Teller's primary duties include:

  • Provides high quality member service and helps to ensure member retention by accurately performing transactions ranging from deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, money orders, gift cards, and cashier check.
  • Provides appropriate advice, counseling, and solutions to member inquires and problems. Works with other Credit Union personnel to proactively meet member needs in a responsive, efficient manner across department lines.
  • Adhere to Great Lakes Credit Union policies and procedures in order to protect the member and the credit union from fraud and loss. Verifies members' signatures, account ownership, and identification.
  • Meets and exceeds personal performance goals, contributes to branch, and Credit Union goals.

Teller's knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Cash handling experience in financial institution or retail establishment.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, verbal instructions. Follow rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
