Spec-Talent Acquisition

Responsible for sourcing, high calibre applicants that meet the qualifications for open positions; act as a consultant to hiring managers and Human Resources (HR) to fill open positions with engaged and diverse candidates.
1. Provide proactive recruitment support by working with hiring managers to develop an in-depth understanding of the position, candidate requirements, and assist in specifying in-depth job requirements
2. Proactively identify recruitment needs and network resources available in assigned districts
3. Conduct various analysis related to recruitment and advise the hiring manager on events, advertising, costs, resources, etc. that will be most effective
4. Manage advertising to be as cost effective as possible reaching the largest percentage audience by selecting the appropriate media, scheduling, frequency and includes creating online and print ads
5. Select, organize and participate in job fairs, assess potential contacts in an effort to identify qualified and diverse candidates for open positions
6. Lead assigned recruitment projects (e.g. strategic plans for veterans, women hiring initiatives, intranet site content, recruiting event participation guidelines, etc)
7. Use advanced search techniques and sourcing skills to identify candidates
8. Provide ongoing training to hiring managers regarding recruitment, hiring processes and efficient use of the applicant tracking system
9. Provide direct supervision, guidance, training, coaching and assignments to temporary employment representatives
10. Responsible for staying current on developments in areas impacting recruiting (e.g. pay, employee benefits, and general personnel and hiring practices)
11. Screen resumes, provide recommendations and facilitate the assessment and selection process, including occasionally pre-screening applicants and conducting interviews and occasionally make hiring decisions for dock, driver and driver apprentice positions
12. Review processes, procedures and develop recommendations for improvements and/or system enhancements
13. Use expert recruitment knowledge, including knowledge of federal and state employment laws to assist the hiring manager in the development of pre-screening interviews and selection interviews if no standard selection criteria available
14. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
15. Perform other duties as required

? Bachelor?s in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or other related field or four (4) years directly related work experience plus two (2) years staffing/recruiting/selection experience
? Demonstrated search skills and expertise in screening active candidates for exempt and non-exempt positions, with working knowledge of web search engines and experience doing research via internet and social networking tools
? Knowledge of human resources including legal and regulatory compliance
? Good written and oral communicate skills with the ability to effectively interact with various levels within the organization and externally within the market
? Good collaborative skills with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
? Familiar with EEO and AA programs, policies and procedures.
? Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize search activities
? Self-starter with can-do attitude; proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented with good follow-through skills
? Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with some experience using applicant tracking systems preferred
? Excellent work ethic, sense of urgency, consistent sense of integrity and strident on privacy issues

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
